Clear Recent Document List Upon Log Off or Shut Down

You can clear all the recent documents list that is created in My Recent Documents for security reasons upon Log Off or Shut Down. Here is the process:

1. Type regedit in RUN dialog box and press Enter. It’ll open Registry Editor.

2. Now goto any one of the following Keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

3. Now create a DWORD value “ClearRecentDocsOnExit” in any of the above mentioned registry locations and set its value to 1.

Thats it. Now every time you Log Off or Shut Down your computer, your Recent Documents List will be cleared.
